Find out what is launching, before it launches

Every Tuesday the US government clears a new batch of brand names for products that are not on sale yet. We compile that list the same day.

Why that matters

1. A company registers a name for a product it has not started selling.
2. The government checks it and approves it - in one batch, every Tuesday.
3. From that day the company has six months to get the product on sale, or it loses the name for good. It can buy more time, but only by asking, and we tell you who has already asked.

That deadline is the whole point. These companies are not considering a launch. They are committed to one, on a clock, and right now they are ordering packaging, tooling, freight, print and shelf space.

How many are stalling

A company that cannot get the product on sale in time can ask the government for more time. It can do that up to five times. The more often a company has asked, the less likely it is to be buying anything soon - so this tells you who to call first.
